Will Bosi ends Swiss trip with two hard first ascents
- Thursday 15th May 2025
Will Bosi has ended his recent trip to Switzerland with first ascents of Brain Rot (Font 8C+) in Magic Wood and Kyanite (Font 8C) in Val Bovona.
Climbing with Dave Graham and Giuliano Cameroni, Will Bosi has just completed his trip around the Swiss bouldering meccas during which he climbed ten boulders between Font 8A+ and 8C+.
Both of Will’s first ascents were projects opened up by Dave Graham; both took just two sessions each to complete. The first ascents and the trip in general were for a film project with Adidas FiveTen.
Commenting on Brain Rot, Bosi said: “Brain Rot is a perfect crimp power line which starts on these two slot crimps and then just three moves on small incut edges. The emphasis here was moving well through a powerful, technical sequence.”
Talking about Kyanite, Will added: “Kyanite is a left-hand version of Axenite. You start in the same place and climb the initial moves of Axenite before breaking out left through a very steep roof. It is about double the moves of Axenite before returning you to the top-out of the original line, but not before a desperate Gaston deadpoint move to rejoin the original line.”
Will’s trip ticklist from the trip was as follows:
Brain Rot Font 8C+ FA
Kyanite Font 8C FA
Captain Nemo Font 8C
Axinite Font 8B+
Embrace Gravity Font 8B+
Space Cadet Font 8B+
Ninjitsu Font 8B+
Dag Addos Font 8B
Finding Nemo Font 8A+
Taijutsu Font 8A+
Following the trip, Will has returned to the UK to focus on local projects.
