Alex Honnold ticks F9a
Sept 16th; 2019
Alex Honnold is back on rock with an ascent of Arrested Development, a Ethan Pringle F9a at Mount Charleston.
Having shocked the world with a free solo of Freerider and then taking the speed record on The Nose with Tommy Caldwell, Alex Honnold was thrown back into the spotlight with the release of the Oscar-winning film, Free Solo.
Writing on his IG page Alex commented that the last year has been not only a busy year but a completely different experience to his normal lifestyle; ‘It’s been a pretty crazy year - @freesolofilm has wildly changed my life and I’ve spent most of the year traveling for events while doing my best to train in various gyms around the world. Which has all been an incredible experience but a big change from my normal lifestyle.’
During that year, Alex got involved with Lattice Training firstly doing one of their infamous assessments and then committing to a Lattice training programme. Despite being ‘on the road’ Alex has trained hard and has been able to put that hard work into practice with a send of Arrested Development as Alex confirms; ‘The last few weeks I’ve gotten to focus on real climbing again, trying a sport route that I’d tried a few years ago and found to be impossible for me. Super satisfying to come back after a year like this and actually manage to climb it. A big thanks to @latticetraining for helping me with a training plan for the year - I don’t think I could have stayed motivated and on track without them.’
