Dr Death's Experience
North Wales - Easter 2010

A bit later then expected.
The scrabble to the end of this term was a bit hectic, with a couple of presentations and group pieces of University work to hand-in. The up hill struggle to the peak was worth it though because by Good Friday I would be in North Wales, staying in a little hut in the middle of nowhere, courtesy of the Yeti Mountaineering Club, something that had been keeping me scrabbling to the last.
The experience was definitely not a let down, five minutes or more to the nearest road, not another building in sight, a bubbling brook and no electricity. Strangely though full O2 mobile signal, thanks O2.
Once again as with all except the Fresher's Trip this year, we arrived with snow, though this time with only six people on the trip and a six wheeled minibus it didn't get stuck.
Friday
With the heavens still open and the temperature at a nice low, climbing was not the first thing on the list with only two experienced Trad Climbers, a novice (me) and three indoor sports climbers. A scrabble up to Triffin Pass, to check out the state of Hope, Faith and Charity, then an icy climb to see Devils Kitchen. With the fastest, least safe decent style known to man of arse sliding to rejoin the lower path around the lake.

The Outdoor Show
What a great time of year winter season coming to an end, Easter just around the corner, but first the Outdoor Show.
3 days of Climbing, Hiking, Biking and general outdoor pursuit fun. With plenty of exhibitors and the Skymasters competition running in the background, this year looks like it's going to be great.
See you all there and if you see me say "Hi".
